Vincent A. Huggins Foundation Award

Posted by Nancy Gagnier 164.20sc on December 11, 2019

On December 8, 2019 the Community coalition on Race was  recognized by the Vincent A. Huggins Foundation for its ongoing work in  the community on racial integration and inclusion. The awards luncheon  highlighted the work we do and the benefits we provide to the community.

The purpose of the Vincent A. Huggins Foundation is to support  programs in Arts & Culture, Education and Cancer Research. Mr.  Huggins was an entrepreneur who started Nation Staffing Associates. He  believed in the importance of giving back to the community and was  always a strong supporter of Education, Cultural Activities and  Organizations. The foundation was started in his memory after he passed  away from cancer in 2014.

We count ourselves truly fortunate to have been honored by the  Vincent A. Huggins Foundation. It was wonderful to meet all the people  at their fundraiser who are so committed to living out Vincent Huggins’  legacy into the future. We deeply appreciate the care and attention we  received from Lynette Huggins, President of the foundation.

Donation Made

On Friday August 30, 2019, The Vincent A. Huggins Foundation, Inc. in keeping with its focus on Education, donated backpacks and school supplies to students at National Staffing Associates West Orange Office.

The importance of education is well-supported by a speech made by the former US President, Barack Obama.  In his national address to students across the nation, he said “…every single one of you has something that you’re good at.  Every single one of you has something to offer.  And you have a responsibility to yourself to discover what that is.  That’s the opportunity an education can provide.” As we all know, it is impossible to excel in this world without a basic education.

The Vincent A. Huggins Foundation is dedicated to assisting students with the tools necessary to be successful in the classroom.  We felt that donating school supplies was an easy way to have a profound impact on students and their learning experience.
